Micho names 21-Cranes’ squad ahead of Abu Dhabi trip

Upcoming International Games:

Gabon v The Cranes –December 30, 2021

Mauritania v The Cranes – January 1, 2022.

Both games will be played in Abu Dhabi

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has listed 21 players to prepare for the upcoming trip to Abu Dhabi – United Arab Emirates – UAE.
The national team is scheduled to play two international build up matches, against two separate African countries.

‘We are assembling the Uganda Cranes team that will competitively get engaged in several upcoming engagements in the Afcon 2013 (qualifiers) and CHAN 2022.
“Such international build up matches are a perfect measure for early preparations,” Fufa official website quotes Micho as saying.

Micho’s team for the About Dhabi trip comprises a blend of the players from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League – UPL as well as some foreign based legion.

Two South African based players in goalkeeper Isma Watenga and Moses Waiswa are part of the team.

Uganda Cranes will play two Afcon finals’ bound teams Gabon and Mauritania.

The first game will be against Gabon on December 30, 2021 and the second game against Mauritania shall come on January 1, 2022.

The team, according to Fufa Communication Directory, is expected to depart the country on December 29, 202; returning on January 2, next year.

The summoned team:

Goalkeepers: Isma Watenga (Chippa United), Joel Mutakubwa (Express) and Jack Komakech (Vipers)

Defenders: Gavin Kizito (Villa), Denis Iguma (KCCA), Aziz Kayondo (Vipers), Juma Ibrahim (KCCA), Khalid Lwaliwa (Vipers), Najib Fesali (URA), Enock Walusimbi (Express) and Kenneth Semakula (SC Villa)

Midfielders: Byaruhanga Bobosi (Vipers), Mahad Kakooza (Express), Moses Waiswa (Supersport United) and Martin Kizza (Express)

Forwards: Patrick Kaddu (unattached), Yunus Sentamu (Vipers), Ibrahim Orit (Vipers), Travis Mutyaba l (SC Villa), Steven Mukwala (URA) and Muhammad Shaban (Onduparaka).
