International Friendly: Uganda Force Draw Against Kenya

Uganda Cranes and Kenya Harambe Stars played to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly match played at Moi International Stadium, Kasarani on September 8.

Emma Okwi, the team’s standing-in Captain put Uganda in the lead on the 22 minute mark after capitalising on a William Luwagga Kizito’s pass.

The hosts levelled matters through Kenneth Muguna moments after recess.

There were no further goals registered for either sides despite attempts to create clear scoring chances.

Muzamiru Mutyaba replaced the injured Khalid Aucho mid-way the second and Bright Anukani was a late replacement for Allan Okello.

Interim Uganda Cranes head coach Abdallah Mubiru was delighted with team’s performance, singling out the players’ confidence.

“The players gave their best effort. It was also interesting how confident they were in the game with the ball.

“We continue to build a good team for the Chan 2020 qualifiers against Burundi,” said Mubiru.

The team returned to Kampala this morning aboard a Uganda Airlines plane.
